October is abuzz with exciting events, including the 28th International Annual Congress of the World Muscle Society (WMS) and the World Orphan Drug Congress.
WMS is scheduled from October 3rd– 7th in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. Representing TREAT-NMD at this event will be David Allison, our Chief Executive Officer; Neil Bennett, TREAT-NMD’s Global Registry Network Manager; Annie Poll, our Research Communications Lead; and Clare Bradley, Head of Education and Events. Additionally, Cathy Turner, a member of the TREAT-NMD Advisory Committee for Therapeutics (TACT) secretariat from Newcastle University, will be in attendance. With a line-up of intriguing talks, this promises to be a fantastic meeting. We’re eager to delve into this year’s main thematic topics, which include:
Topic 1: Understanding phenotypic and genetic diversity in neuromuscular disorders.
Topic 2: Pathobiology of neuromuscular expansion disorders.
Topic 3: The effect of lifestyle, exercise, and nutrition on neuromuscular pathology and outcomes.
Later in the month, David, Neil and Clare will be joined by Kim Down, our Partnership and Collaborations Manager, to attend the World Orphan Drug Congress in Barcelona. This congress stands as the largest and most established gathering for orphan drugs and rare diseases worldwide. It’s scheduled from October 31st – November 2nd and will feature 300 speakers and over 100 exhibitors across the three days.
If you plan to attend either of these meetings and wish to arrange a meetup to discuss TREAT-NMD’s activities or explore potential collaborations, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@treat-nmd.com. We look forward to connecting with you.
