TREAT-NMD Alliance Ltd. is now accepting applications for two key positions: Chair and Trustee on our board of trustees. Both positions play a vital role in overseeing the strategic direction of TREAT-NMD Alliance Ltd., a charity dedicated to advancing the diagnosis, care, and treatment of individuals with neuromuscular diseases.
Role of the Chair:
As Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the Board in the development and monitoring of the charity’s strategic aims.
- Ensuring the Board operates effectively and meets its legal and governance responsibilities.
- Acting as the primary spokesperson for the charity when required.
- Providing guidance and support to the Board members and the executive team.
- Representing TREAT-NMD Alliance Ltd. at key events and meetings.
Role of the Trustee:
As a Trustee, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with fellow Trustees to define and oversee the strategic direction of TREAT-NMD Alliance Ltd.
- Ensuring the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Reviewing the work of the charity, assessing its impact, and making recommendations for improvement.
- Contributing your expertise and experience to guide decision-making on key issues.
- Attending Board meetings and actively participating in discussions and decisions.
In addition to the Board of Trustees, TREAT-NMD Services Ltd., our business arm, is overseen by a Board of Directors, which reports directly to the Board of Trustees. TREAT-NMD Services Ltd. is the wholly owned trading subsidiary of TREAT-NMD Alliance Ltd. We also have a Neuromuscular Disease Executive Advisory Committee (NMDAC), composed of clinicians, researchers, patients, and other experts, is elected by our members to identify priority focus areas for the charity. These areas contribute to shaping the strategic direction of TREAT-NMD Alliance Ltd., as reviewed and guided by the Board of Trustees.

We will review applications and those shortlisted will be asked to join a call with the CEO to give more detail on the responsibilities of the position, processes and commitment required. Final shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet with representatives from the board to further discuss why they would be the perfect fit for the Board of Trustees. Please note, new Trustees would be expected to be onboarded by June 2025 so please keep this in mind when applying for the position.
